A rod mirror is a special type of cylindrical lens with a highly polished perimeter and ground ends. Rod mirrors work like standard cylindrical lenses and
can be used to shape beams and focus collimated light into a line. Our rod lenses play a key role in many laser and imaging optics and are used in UV,
VIS and NIR applications.
The circumference of the rod lens is polished and both ends are ground. Optical properties are similar to cylindrical lenses. Collimated light passing through
the diameter of the rod lens will be focused into a line. N-BK7 and UV fused silica substrates can be used in a variety of UV, visible and NIR applications.
