An achromatic double glued lens is made by gluing a low refractive index corona glass positive lens to a high refractive index flint glass negative lens. The two lenses with different refractive indices and dispersions are combined to form a glued lens.
The glued lenses with different refractive indices and dispersions can correct chromatic and spherical aberrations compared to spherical single lenses. Achromatic double bonded lenses are commonly used in objective systems, imaging systems, laser measurement systems or as collimating lenses for laser experiments.
